Lottie Moon Prayer Focus – Day 4

As we continue our Wednesday prayer focus on International Missionaries and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, we want you to continue to consider how God may want to use you in these efforts.   When you’re a team of 12, how do you even start to reach a city of more than 28 million people? That’s a question Todd Beel’s team in Mexico City asks itself a lot. Click here for LMCO Prayer Day 4

Forward Campus Plan Additional Information

Since we first announced our Forward Campus Plans to address some campus modifications, we have been overwhelmed with encouraging feedback, excited affirmation, and even additional finances to begin this project. What a special sense of unity and joy! Forward Campus Plan Phases updating the sanctuary, upgrading our playground, remodeling flexible meeting spaces, and renovating the hub of our campus as a place of connection for our church. We have tried to do our best job to communicate through Waypoint, handouts,…

Only Jesus

[Reading from the end of the sermon, “All Things New.”] Who is able to speak all things into existence?  Who is able to make saints out of misfits?  Who can restore peace from our strife?  Whose power can bring the dead back to life?  His name is Jesus.  Only Jesus. He is the Christ – the Son of the Living God.  The Long-Awaited Messiah of whom all history was longing for.  Jesus is the one and the only. In the…

Acts 2:1-4 and 22-40 for Gospel Groups December 3-9

Read the passages this week and think about these questions Acts 2:1-4, 22-47 John 14:15-17, 26; 15:26-27   Are you obeying the commands of Jesus? Do you wait for God to act? Who is the Holy Spirit? How does knowing the Holy Spirit lives in you affect the way you live? Why do you think Peter shares boldly with the people gathered? What things does Peter testify about Jesus? With whom have you recently shared the good news of Jesus?…

Interpreting Revelation

The final book of the Bible is full of glorious promises and yet significant challenges.  While the entire Bible has interpretive challenges, none is so difficult as the Book of Revelation.  In our last session of hermeneutics, let us focus on how to be unashamed in our accurate study of this final book. The Rules of Revelation The book is one Revelation. Revelation is symbolic. Just because the content is difficult to understand does not mean it should be avoided.…

LMCO – This Is Living

Our lives are not intended to be simple, selfish or separated from the lost and dying world.  God has called each of us to GO and share the Good News.  While every person may not be able to go overseas to share the Gospel, every person can certainly share what God has done in their own lives with the people God has placed around them as well as help to supply resources for those sharing the Gospel in some of…

The Word Reading Plan [Week 15]

The Word Bible reading plan is a chronological 100-day guide that focuses on 50 pivotal Old Testament readings and 50 pivotal New Testament readings.  As we go through “The Word” series, our Sunday sermons will focus on the passage for that day.  During the week, our church will be reading through the rest of the passages to gain a fuller understanding of the grand narrative of Scripture. In addition, we have a Bible study for adults and students on Wednesdays…

Bible Reading Plan

Our 100 Day Bible Reading Plan ends on Monday, November 27.  We will have spent 50 days in the Old Testament and 50 days in the New Testament.  It’s been a great journey to grasp the major theme of the Bible as we have read through the Scriptures chronologically. Although the 100 Day Bible Reading Plan is ending, it doesn’t mean our study of the Word is over.  Beginning Tuesday, November 28, we’ll begin a new Bible Reading Plan that will…

Lottie Moon Prayer Focus – Day 3

As we continue our Wednesday prayer focus on International Missionaries and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, we want you to continue to consider how God may want to use you in these efforts.   Jones Family JAPAN Jared and Tara Jones knew that God could do a lot with something little. But they never imagined just how many doors He would open through their infant son, whose adoption people had told them was almost impossible in Japan. Click here for…

Isaiah 12:1-6 for Gospel Groups November 26-December 2

Read the passages this week and think about these questions Isaiah 12:1-6   Is the day of the Lord a day to look forward to or to fear? For what can you praise and give thanks to God? What is a current day metaphor that we could use to describe salvation from the Lord? Is the body at RC filled with joy because of the streams of mercy that flow from God? What does your worship and evangelism look like?…

Interpreting the Epistles

In our study of hermeneutics, the New Testament epistles are an important biblical genre on which to focus. You can think of the epistles the same way you would think of a love letter. It matters who wrote the letter, who received the letter, and why the letter was sent. The entire meaning can alter based upon those elements. Epistles’ Organization The epistles’ order is based upon size and author. Paul – Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians,…
