This week we will begin reading the book of Romans. “The book of Romans is considered by many as the ultimate hallmark of Paul’s letters to the churches, with some scholars suggesting that every major revival in church history has been preceded by the faithful preaching of it.” Read prayerfully and ask God to revive you as you meditate on the truths of this book. On Saturday and Sunday, we’ll focus on the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups and the Sunday sermon. Please consider the questions below regarding the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups.
- Sunday, April 15 – 2 Timothy 2:1-7
- Monday, April 16 – Romans 1:1-32
- Tuesday, April 17 – Romans 2:1 – 3:30
- Wednesday, April 18 – Romans 3:31 – 4:25
- Thursday, April 19 – Romans 5:1 – 6:23
- Friday, April 20 – Romans 7:1 – 8:11
- Saturday, April 21 – Romans 8:12-39
How would you sum up the way the gospel of Jesus changes us?
What is the difference between being/living in the flesh and being/living in the Spirit?
Are you living in the flesh or by the Spirit? What is your attitude toward sin?
As believers, what do we hope for?
What encouragement is there in knowing the Spirit lives in us?
What comfort does Romans 8:28-39 give?
How have you experienced this personally?
What does it mean to be more than a conqueror?
How are you sharing the realities of this passage with others?
- Sunday, April 22 – Isaiah 49:1-7
We will make posts on our website and app on Sunday mornings that outline the Bible reading plan for the rest of the week. Or you can view the entire Bible Reading Plan (April – May 2018).
