Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

Every spring leading up to Easter, Southern Baptist Churches are encouraged to participate in the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (AAEO) for North American Missions.  This annual offering is named after a woman who was a bold Missions Advocate and the first National Executive leader of the WMU (Women’s Missionary Union).  This offering supplies nearly half of the annual budget for the North American Mission Board (NAMB), and 100% of the funds donated to AAEO go directly to the Mission Field.…

RC Senior Salvation Bracelet Success

Today, February 20, a large group of our RC Seniors gathered in the Fellowship Hall to put together Salvation Bracelets that our team will carry to Brazil in June.  As usual, when our Seniors get together, there is a lot of fun and fellowship, but they worked hard as well.  2,000 salvation bracelets were made by the 80 people who showed up to work.  The hotdog lunch afterwards was a lot of fun as well. If you are not a…

There are about 50 kids and about 30 adults who attend.  Plan to be set up and ready to serve the meal by 5:20 (this is…

Lottie Moon Prayer Focus – Day 8

This is the last prayer focus for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.  For the past eight Wednesdays, we have posted this prayer focus to encourage our Church Family to pray for International Missions, to educate our Family about the great work that the International Mission Board and our International Missionaries are doing, and to motivate our Family to financially support the LMCO to help further the work of those missionaries.  Today, IMB President, David Platt reminds us why prayer is…

LMCO – The Cost of Keeping Missionaries on the Field We all know that everything is getting more expensive; Food, Education, Health Care, Lodging, etc.  And that is not just here in the United States.  Missionaries throughout the world also experience higher costs.  The International Mission Board (IMB) has listed some examples of costs for keeping missionaries on the field.  These are just some examples: $6 – Pays for a one-mile taxi ride in Tokyo $25 – Supplies one tank…

Lottie Moon Prayer Focus – Day 6

Praise God for the offering that our Rocky Creek family has given so far, our total at this point is $19,641.  That is a good start, but far from what our Rocky Creek family has given in previous years.  We will continue to collect until December 31. This week as you pray about what to give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, pray also for the Mikeska family serving in London. At Shane and Lindsay Mikeska’s house in London, Christmas…

LMCO – Even International Missionaries Give To Lottie Moon

In 2014, Rocky Creek sent a team to Senegal to host the Western Gateway Conference, a retreat for missionaries serving throughout West Africa.  Every missionary family that came to the conference came prepared with money they had set aside through the year for Lottie Moon.  Our team had brought dozens of gift baskets for children, adults, and families for a very special Lottie Moon Auction. The missionaries had a blast bidding on the different baskets and they all went home…

Lottie Moon Prayer Focus – Day 5

This week we are over halfway through our LMCO Prayer focus.  This coming Sunday we will be collecting our LMCO offering at Rocky Creek.  As you pray for these missionaries each week, pray also about how you can be partnered with them through your financial gifts to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
