RC Kids

The Kids’ Ministry at Rocky Creek Baptist exists to make disciples who love, grow, and serve through intentional relationships. We accomplish this by helping children live the way Jesus lived:

  • Love – Love God and Love Others (Mark 12:20 and John 13:34)
  • Grow – Grow in Your Faith (John 15:4 and 2 Timothy 2:15)
  • Serve – Serve Personally, with Family, and with the Church (Matthew 28:19-20)

Sunday Gospel Groups

Children begin in their Gospel Groups at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings in their individual classes on the third floor of the educational wing. In the middle of the Gospel Group time, all the children join together to study God’s word through drama, Bible reading, and music. Children return to their grade-level Gospel Groups and talk about the application of the Bible study for the day. The great news is that while the children are studying the Bible in their Gospel Groups, their parents are in their adult groups studying the same Scripture passage. Parents pick up their children at 10:15 a.m. at which time families join together for worship in the sanctuary.

Kids’ Worship

Our 1st-2nd graders have the opportunity to sit with their families in corporate worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. for the entire service or to be dismissed after the music and offering to attend a kid-friendly Bible study in Kids’ Worship. Parents should either sign in their children upstairs during Gospel Groups and get a name tag for the child and a parent pick up tag at that time so the child can attend Kids’ Worship or get a name tag at the Welcome Center when the child is dismissed after the music in the corporate worship service. Children are escorted by Kids’ Worship leaders to the multi-purpose room near our Welcome Center adjacent to the sanctuary, and parents pick up their children in the multi-purpose room at the conclusion of worship by showing the leaders their sticker/card that matches their child’s nametag.

Wednesdays with Music and Missions

In order to put hands and feet on our mission statement, our children are engaged in hands-on activities on Wednesday night from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Each week, children participate in learning about missions and in preparing to engage in missions. Children learn to express praise and love to God through their music and by using their music to minister to others.

Parent Ministry

Our children’s ministry involves the parent in the process of growing children who love, grow, and serve by living the way Jesus did. Throughout the year, there are events to draw families together. We counsel children regarding salvation while preparing the parents to feel competent in leading their own children to know Christ as Savior.
