Bible Reading Plan for Week of May 20

Bible Reading Plan for Week of May 20

This week we will continue reading through the book of Hebrews to discover that Jesus is better than…  Therefore, we should live by faith in Him.  We should have much encouragement from being in Christ since He is the author and perfecter of our faith.  We should also take great comfort and gain encouragement from saints that lived by faith before us.  These truths should help us depend on Christ for everything we need.    On Saturday and Sunday, we’ll focus on the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups and the Sunday sermon.  Please consider the questions below regarding the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups.

  • Sunday, May 20 – Mark 1:21-34
  • Monday, May 21 – Hebrews 8:1-13
  • Tuesday, May 22 – Hebrews 9:1-28
  • Wednesday, May 23 – Hebrews 10:1-39
  • Thursday, May 24 – Hebrews 11:1 – 12:2
  • Friday, May 25 – Hebrews 12:3 – 13:25
  • Saturday, May 26 – Hebrews 11:1 – 12:2

How would you define faith?

Why is biblical faith important?

Why would the doctrine of justification by faith alone, not by works, be the article upon which the church stands or falls?

How might thinking of good works as worship shape how you live each day?

How did the OT saints show faith in God?  Who is an encouragement to you and why?

How can OT persons be saved since they never exercised faith in Christ?

Does faith always lead to “immediate” great rewards?

What truths can you discover in Hebrews 12:1-2?

Why is it encouraging to know that Jesus is not just the author of our faith, but is the perfecter as well?

How have you demonstrated faith in your life?

  • Sunday, May 27 – Mark 1:35-39

We will make posts on our website and app on Sunday mornings that outline the Bible reading plan for the rest of the week.  Or you can view the entire Bible Reading Plan (April – May 2018).
