Bible Reading Plan for Week of August 12

Bible Reading Plan for Week of August 12

We are making our way into the second half of the book of Revelation.  As a review, here’s a recap of chapters 1-11.  This week we’ll read through chapters 11-15.  Here’s an overview of these chapters and the remaining part of Revelation.  Remember that the focus is God’s greatness and our victory through Jesus.  Worship this week as you read, and ascribe to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit their worth.  On Saturday and Sunday, we’ll focus on the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups and the Sunday sermon.  Please consider the questions below regarding the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups.

  • Sunday, August 12 – Mark 4:35-41
  • Monday, August 13 – Revelation 11:1-19
  • Tuesday, August 14 – Revelation 12:1-17
  • Wednesday, August 15 – Revelation 13:1-18
  • Thursday, August 16 – Revelation 14:1-20
  • Friday, August 17 – Revelation 15:1-8
  • Saturday, August 18 – Revelation 4:2-5:14

When you hear the word “worship”, what do you think about?

How does singing as a gathered church help you feel connected to God?

What does Revelation 4:1-11 tell you about God?

What aspects of creation lead you to worship God the most?  Why?

How does knowing God is your creator affect your life?

What are some of your favorite hymns and songs to sing that help you reflect on God’s character and attributes?

How is Jesus described in Revelation 5?

What does Revelation 4 and 5 tell us about the relationship between God and Jesus?

Why is Jesus worthy to open the scroll?

From Revelation 4 and 5 what are some ways we worship?

Does the statement, “Missions exists because worship does not”, by John Piper, compel you to any kind of action?

How does the worship of God fuel evangelism?

  • Sunday, August 19 – Mark 5:1-20
