Last week started our journey of reading through the Old Testament in chronological order. So while we started in Genesis, we aren’t just reading it straight through. We will be reading about Job in the coming days and then return to Genesis. As we continue reading in the OT we will look at the Scriptures in the order in which events occurred. Hopefully, as you read God’s Word it will come alive to you and you will see God in a fresh way. May God reveal Himself to you in a powerful way as you meditate on His Word. On Saturday and Sunday, we’ll focus on the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups and the Sunday sermon. Please consider the questions below regarding the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups.
- Sunday, September 2 – Mark 6:1-13
- Monday, September 3 – Job 1-3

- Wednesday, September 5 – Job 7-9
- Thursday, September 6 – Job 10-12

What responsibilities was man given? How does this impact the way we live today?
What was given to man and the animals for food? What is the significance of this?
What does God do on the 7thday? Why?
What command does God give the man in Genesis 2:16-17? What are the consequences for disobeying?
Why was the woman fashioned out of the rib of the man?
What implications does Genesis 2:24 have for marriages?
How well are you bearing God’s image? Is there anything you need to repent of or any area where you need to obey God’s commands?
