Bible Reading Plan for Week of September 23

Bible Reading Plan for Week of September 23

In the first part of Genesis we discovered some important truths about God – He is eternal, Creator, holy, just, gracious and merciful.  As we keep reading in Genesis we are going to focus on the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and Joseph in the coming weeks.  God will not change and we will see how He is accomplishing His purposes through the lives of these individuals.  On Saturday and Sunday, we’ll focus on the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups and the Sunday sermon.  Please consider the questions below regarding the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups.

  • Sunday, September 23 – Mark 6:45-56
  • Monday, September 24 – Genesis 14-15
  • Tuesday, September 25 – Genesis 16-18
  • Wednesday, September 26 – Genesis 19-21
  • Thursday, September 27 – Genesis 22-24
  • Friday, September 28 – Genesis 25-26
  • Saturday, September 29 – Genesis 11:1-9; Isaiah 55:8-9

How has the world changed from Genesis 11:1?

According to Genesis 11:4, what is the focus?

What does the act of building a tower for themselves reveal about the heart of people?

What does God do in response to the people’s pride?

How do you see God’s grace in His actions?

What happened to the tower?

Do you have a “broken tower” in your life that serves as a reminder of something?

How have you seen God accomplish His purposes despite certain events or circumstances?

How can God use you this week to accomplish His purpose (making His great name known)?

  • Sunday, September 30 – Mark 7:1-13

We will make posts on our website and app on Sunday mornings that outline the Bible reading plan for the rest of the week.  Or you can view the entire Bible Reading Plan (Sept – Nov 2018)
