Bible Reading Plan for the Week of January 20

Bible Reading Plan for the Week of January 20

We have finished reading through the first five books of the Bible, and this week we start in Judges.  Joshua has led the Israelites and they have settled into the Promised Land.  However, Joshua dies and now “judges” (deliverers, saviors) are given to help God’s people against their enemies.  There is a cycle of sin, subjugation, supplication, and salvation throughout the book of Judges.  May we learn from this devastating cycle and break it in our own lives.  On Saturday and Sunday, we’ll focus on the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups and the Sunday sermon.  Please consider the questions below regarding the Scriptures for our Gospel Groups.

  • Sunday, January 20 – Mark 11:27 – 12:12
  • Monday, January 21  – Judges 1-2
  • Tuesday, January 22 – Judges 3-4
  • Wednesday, January 23 – Judges 5-6
  • Thursday, January 24 – Judges 7-8
  • Friday, January 25 – Judges 9-10
  • Saturday, January 26 – Exodus 18

What is Jethro’s reaction Moses’ testimony?

What are some practical applications for us in these verses?

What does Jethro observe about Moses?

Why does Jethro say what Moses is doing is not good?

What are some practical applications of delegation and multiplication?

How does Moses respond to Jethro’s advice?

How can we implement this advice in our Rocky Creek context?

  • Sunday, January 27 – Mark 12:13-17

We will make posts on our website and app on Sunday mornings that outline the Bible reading plan for the rest of the week.  Or you can view the entire Bible Reading Plan (Dec 2018 – Feb 2019)
