Janie Chapman Missions Offering – How Your Gift Helps #3

The Janie Chapman Missions Offering is a vital tool to help fund Missions in and through South Carolina. Every year in September, SC Baptist Churches are asked to pray for SC Missions and consider giving to this special offering.

Each of the posts about the Janie Chapman Missions Offering will share some aspect of how the Janie Chapman funds are used.  As you read over these posts consider how God is working in and through SC Baptists, and how you can be a part of that.

On Sunday, September 15, Rocky Creek will collect our offering for Janie Chapman.  Over the past several years, RC has collected an average of about $2000.  As you pray, consider if $2000 is enough for RC to give.

SC-BCMissions is a statewide missions initiative through BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries) of the South Carolina Baptist Convention to mobilize students for missions.

Summer missions opportunities in North America are fully funded through the Janie Chapman Offering including transportation and insurance. Students serve in places such as Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, church planting sites, work with refugees (Clarkston, Georgia), Mission Arlington (Texas), Camp Baldwin (Alaska), and Mosaic Campus Ministry (Anchorage, Alaska). Ministry opportunities vary from year to year.

International projects include both full summer and short-term experiences. Several opportunities are in partnership with the International Mission Board while others are in cooperation with SC churches. Recent full summer international locations include Peru, Chile, Uganda, Romania, Italy, and India. Short-term trips to Nova Scotia, Cuba, North Africa, and the Netherlands have provided opportunities to do collegiate outreach and church planting.
