Lottie Moon Christmas Offering – Together

Every year, Southern Baptist Churches take up a very special offering to help support International Missions.  It is named the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, after a unique woman named Charlotte Digges Moon, better known as Lottie Moon.  She gave so much of herself to the people of China that she finally died on Christmas Eve in 1912, on a boat on the way back to the US.  She was a bold woman to write countless letters to Christians and churches in the US, begging them to send money and missionaries to China.

What we need in China is more workers.  The harvest is very great, the laborers, oh! so few… I think your idea is correct, that a young man should ask himself not if it is duty to go to the heathen, but if he may dare stay at home. The command is so plain: ‘Go'” – LM

This year, like every year, Rocky Creek will encourage her Family to consider, to pray, and then to give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.  All of the funds given are used overseas to fund missions work.  Over the next 2 weeks, there will be a number of posts here about Lottie Moon to help you better understand the need and the opportunity.  The theme this year is “Your generosity transforms lives.”

Your generosity transforms lives

The national goal for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering this year is $165,000,000. Over the past 5 years, our RC Family gave just a little over $200,000 to Lottie Moon.  Consider what you would like to give and how you can be a part of sharing God’s Gospel message around the world.  We can do so much more together with other believers:
