The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions Every year around Christmas, Southern Baptist Churches, like Rocky Creek, take time to focus on the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.  In the 1800’s, a missionary named Lottie Moon (her real name was Charlotte Digges Moon) wrote letters from China to churches in the US pleading to send funds for more missionaries.  Lottie died from malnutrition because she gave away her food to the starving people around her in China.…

Bring A Turkey To Church Day – November 11

This Sunday, November 11, is our annual Bring A Turkey To Church Day, to support Miracle Hill Ministries. Piedmont Women’s Center Help Needed

Piedmont Women’s Center Grove Road Construction Project      There is an immediate need for some help at the new Piedmont Women’s Center Grove Road Center.  So much has been happening at the construction site and there is a need now for some cleanup.  They would like to have this done before Thursday, November 15.      Each room and window sill needs to be vacuumed and then mop the floors.  Most of the rooms are small and they have…

Disaster Relief for Hurricane Florence

While we were graciously spared in the Upstate from the wrath of Hurricane Florence, many were not.  Parts of Eastern North Carolina have seen flooding where houses will likely have to be completely demolished, or being completely gutted, all furnishings, sheetrock, electrical, HVAC, etc being removed and eventually replaced.  It is a painstaking task, and since Hurricane Matthew hit almost exactly 2 years ago in about the same areas, some of those homes and businesses have been sitting vacant and…
