God Opens A Closed Door

In January of 2018, Bryce and Katie Staggs arrived at Rocky Creek hurting and desperately needing a place to heal from the trenches of ministry. Both desired to grow in maturity and in leadership to prepare for the future that God would have for them in vocational ministry. Bryce and Katie found that there were two avenues already in existence at Rocky Creek that would provide the healing, preparation, and support they needed as a young couple to be prepared…

Families on Mission: Meet the Masseys

Jason and Tara Massey, along with their children, Caleb and Eliana, moved from Michigan to Greenville in 2017. In 2018, they made their way to Rocky Creek and joined as covenant members. Four months later, their 10-year-old son, Caleb made his decision to follow Jesus public, joined the church, and was baptized. Six-year-old Eliana has also followed the rest of her family in declaring her faith in Jesus since coming to Rocky Creek. The Masseysʼ faith is not the only…

Worship In Our New Reality

During 2020, the Brocato family learned the power of family worship. On March 15, 2020, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pastor Travis stood at the pulpit and said to the Rocky Creek congregation, “We want to be able to continue as a church, to be the church…we will do what we have to do…we are going to be smart, but we are going to be the church.” The following week, March 22, 2020, Pastor Travis was no longer…

Growing and Going

In Matthew 28:19-20, we read these words, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” In this verse, Jesus emphasizes the need to take the Gospel to those who do not know Him in order that they may become His…

Children on Mission

I love watching our church using their passion to disciple others. Let me introduce you to Christy Warren who serves our Mission Kids on Wednesday nights. “When I was a child, I heard missionaries speak at my church. Some of the missionaries even spent the night in our home. “I’ve spent a lot of my adult life trying to share my early love of missions with children. It’s a joy to see children’s faces on Wednesday evenings at Rocky Creek…

The Difference a Study Bible Can Make in Prison

A few months ago, our staff received a letter from prison from an individual with a simple request: he wanted a study Bible.  Since I had been given some extras from someone, we put it in the mail and honestly forgot about it. Weeks later, I received a letter that floored me.  His gratitude was overwhelming, but his perspective was convicting. When was the last time you were this grateful for having a copy of God’s Word? The Letter August…

The Church’s Front Door

After working for a few days in Senegal, I asked our translator if he wanted to go to his church on Sunday.  The villages we were working in had no local church (yet), and I wanted our translator to have the opportunity to see his physical and spiritual family, while at the same time, I wanted our team to be a part of a church body in that country. He gladly accepted the change of plans, and we made preparations…

He Just Needed Jesus

Hear how Jesus is changing this family. Years of praying. A co-worker’s invitation. Jesus is still in the business of changing lives.  This is Dusty and Owen’s story of receiving the gospel.

Lenna’s Request

Rocky Creek loves partnering with Piedmont Women’s Center.  Hear from their director, Lenna Smith. Located in Greenville, South Carolina, Piedmont Women’s Center (PWC) is an oasis of hope committed to demonstrating the love of Christ to those with pregnancy-related needs. Since 1991, PWC has served women, men, and their unborn babies by offering the physical care and personal guidance that many of them cannot find elsewhere. We depend on the support of like-minded friends in order to continue to offer…
