Becky Kirby – Counseling Coordinator

As ministry needs have increased at Rocky Creek, one area we are confident that we must develop is in our capacity for biblical counseling. One of our major objectives for 2020 was to develop a counseling ministry: Organize thorough counseling ministry – We each have difficult circumstances that come against us, but we don’t have to manage them alone. By developing a community of specialized counselors, we will be able to help disciple people through specific situations. As we prayed…

We want to respond wisely without overreacting prematurely. As of right now, we have not altered the weekend schedule but will continue to monitor expert counsel and survey local impact. Connect Through Church Center

One of the goals for Rocky Creek in 2020 is to provide members with tools to better connect.  We wanted to have a way for members of groups and service teams to stay connected. That is where Church Center and the RC App and RC website (rockycreekonline.org) come in.  The RC App and church website are useful for obtaining information.  However, if you would like to interact with certain information in order to GIVE online, register for EVENTS, or stay…

Pray through Philippians

On Sunday, February 9, Pastor Travis started a sermon series in the book of Philippians, and we are discovering you can find joy right where you are. On Wednesday, March 4, we will begin a review and prayer time that coincides with the verses from Sunday’s sermon.  For example, on Wednesday, March 4, we will review Philippians 1:27-30, and then pray through these verses. From 6:30-7:30PM each Wednesday, March 4 to June 3, in room 341, we will spend time…

Estate Planning

A couple of weeks ago we shared how the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina can help you with Estate Planning. If you are willing to leave 10% of the charitable portion of your will to a Southern Baptist cause, such as Rocky Creek, a school, or missions, then the Baptist Foundation will help you prepare your estate plan. This means that part of your estate (determined by you) will be left to charitable groups and at least 10% of this…

Philippians [Series Overview]

I am eager to begin our four-month study through the Book of Philippians. We start this sermon series this Sunday! The Apostle Paul was no stranger to emotional stress. Giving his life away for gospel ministry landed him in prison, and yet all he could talk about was the need to rejoice. We will go through this book to see the secrets of the joy-filled Christian. The subtitle is “Finding Joy Right Where You Are.” The graphic tells that story.…

2020 Sermon Series

As I prayed for preaching direction for 2020, I could not escape from the pervading stress that attacks our church family. Financial, emotional, spiritual, and political stress seem to be at an all-time high for so many people. With that directive in mind, I searched the Scriptures to find the needed Word for this pivotal year. Take a look where the Spirit is leading us into the Word in 2020. Upcoming Series Proverbs on Money – Financial stress endangers us…

Advance [Celebrating 2019. Anticipating 2020]

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now” (Phil. 1:3-5). I am truly grateful for how Paul expresses ever so eloquently the passion of my heart in these days. The work that God is doing among the people of Rocky Creek is absolutely astounding. My prayers are nothing less than joyful…
