Perry Correctional Institution Christmas Dinner
Tuesday, December 10
We have the opportunity to serve a Christmas Dinner to the men at Perry Correctional Institute and lead them in a time of praise and worship to our Lord Jesus. There are two ways that you can help with this.
- Sign up to go and help serve. We need about 10-15 people who are willing to go into the prison and serve the meal to the men. Everyone who goes in to the prison must be pre-screened so you need to sign up ASAP. On Tuesday, December 10, all of our volunteers must arrive at the prison by 5:15 to go through screening. We will be carrying boxes of desserts and that takes a little bit longer. Once inside we will serve the meal to the inmates and lead them in a time of praise and worship. We will sing Christmas carols, sit with the men, encourage them and let them know that there are “Jesus Lovers” who love them also.
- Cook a homemade dessert for us to serve to the 125 men. We need homemade cakes, homemade Pies, homemade cookies that we can hand out. Everything should be pre-cut and packaged on disposable trays and wrapped in clear plastic. The homemade desserts is a highlight for the men, so the more we have the better. These items must be at the church no later than 4:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10. Please let David know if you will be providing a dessert so we can make sure we have enough.
Contact David Williams to sign up to serve or to supply homemade desserts. Everyone who goes into the prison must be pre-screened. David will have the necessary forms at the Welcome Desk on Wednesday and Sunday, as well as in the office to fill out.
